by Dave Zuchowski

that they’re having a good time."

At 57, Bootsy is still performing, not so much touring on the road but in the studio. Recently, he produced a new CD titled "The Fallen Heroes Memorial," a recording of 20 patriotic songs that includes artists like Charlie Daniels and George Duke. The CD is dedicated to fallen soldiers and their families.

Impetus for the CD came from Matt Maupin, a US Army private captured by Iraqi insurgents in 2004 whose body was recovered almost four years later. Maupin lived near Bootsy’s home in Clermont County, Ohio. All proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to the Fallen Heroes Foundation, which is raising money for the construction of a Fallen Heroes and Veterans Museum near Cincinnati.

As to his restaurant, Bootsy said he always told his mother he’d like to open a restaurant for her.

"Mom was a great cook and loved her kitchen," he said. "It was almost like her office."
Bootsy’s mother passed on in 1997, and had she lived to see the opening of the restaurant, chances are she would have loved her son’s newest enterprise!

Bootsy’s Restaurant is at 631 Walnut Street in Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. For reservations and more information, phone 513-241-0707. For information on other attractions and for help on booking a hotel and planning your visit, log on to www.CincinnatiUSA.com
